Hello my darlings,
 
Venus retrograde in Scorpio is about the shadow side of love: jealously, possessiveness, gaping need, burning anger, and issues of containment. Everything has a shadow side, even love, and it’s certainly nothing to get hysterical over.  Feelings are your greatest ally — all of them. They’re yours, they don’t belong to anyone else, and no one can take them from you. The reason it’s hard to have the so-called ugly feelings is because we’ve been programmed to believe they’re bad. "You shouldn't be feeling the way you're feeling." "You shouldn’t want someone’s head to explode."  "You shouldn’t want that person not to do well." "You shouldn’t want what that person has." "You shouldn’t want your lover to see you and only you and not notice the hot young thing walking by."  Oh, for heaven’s sakes. After 65 years on the planet and 40 of them working with the tribe of women, I’ve never known anyone who hasn’t experienced all five of the “shouldn’t’s."

​The point is love isn’t all sweetness and light; it’s not supposed to be, because to truly see through the lens of love is to see what’s best for self and soul.  We are programmed to believe that a partner will make us whole; those of us with a few years of life experience know that’s crap. With life experience, you’re going to grow, you’re going to change, and that which originally brought you together has to grow. If it doesn’t the relationship will break up. That doesn’t mean love can’t last, it can grow even deeper and more intense, as long as there’s honest communication and a willingness in both parties to get to a deeper intimacy. Sometimes people can’t go into a deeper intimacy.  It doesn’t make anyone a bad person; it just is. (Though some people really are just jerks)
 
Whether the partnership is romantic, business, friendship, etc. with Venus retrograde in Scorpio, the shelf life for a lot of relationships is going to be coming up, and ultimately it’s all going to circle back to you, and how you relate to and love yourself. Questions about why and how you feel the way you do, when rooted in the soil of something being wrong with you, completely invalidate your emotional response to what’s happening and you end up abandoning self and soul like you’ve been taught to do, and had to do, in order to survive. 
 
The point of the Venus retrograde in Scorpio is self-love and radical self-acceptance.  Whatever or whoever is in the way of that is going to come up, and that my darlings could be you. I think it has everything to do with the fact that we are more terrified of our power, than our powerlessness. Right use of power is love made visible. Tolerating injustice, really bad behavior, personal violation, etc., all those things we're not supposed to judge, is not right use of love. Life is a judgment call - you weight the facts and make a decision.  That decision is a judgment. Entirely too often - "I don't want to be judgmental," - is an excuse to skip over what you're truly feeling and what right use of that feeling is. But we evolve through the emotional body, we're supposed to have feelings, the body sensates, we have feelings, so it's only logical that every feeling has right purpose and right use.

Any decent teacher will tell you the answer to anything is always love, but the concept of love and the action of loving are quite different. There’s a genuine ferocity to loving self and a willingness to fight for what’s yours. Venus retrograde in Scorpio will show you what’s been stolen and who and/or what continues to steal your life force. Venus retrograde in Scorpio will help you find your intrinsic wildness that refuses to be contained by the scripts of others.  Go with the energy and you will clear away anything that stands in the way of the pure potential of genuine self-love.

What will help you work with this energy is to jot down everyday for 7 days, what is in the way of loving self beyond all reason. Don't overthink, just jot it down and let it go. The first Saturday after those 7 days, burn it and say the following by the Francesca DeGrandis:

"We are all dancing

Oceans move
Moutains fall and rise again
And love bloom in all hearts.
The heart of the earth is blooming now."

Come November, Venus will move back into her natural home of Libra and you will be clear to welcome Her.
