June 2019 - Witch Speak: Growing the Humane
Hello my darlings, it’s May 31st as I write this and I am propped up in bed at the Mountain Brook Inn recovering from a second surgery. Nothing serious, it’s all over and done with, and I am very pleased. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all y’all’s prayers and healing energies. I really felt them.
I recently wrote the following in my new book Sober Witch: “The truth of the existence of the divine is the foundation of my being. In my world the mystical and the pragmatic are equally vibrant, equally powerful threads with which I co-create my world and my life.”
Those words express the truth of my being; at the same time sometimes I forget my truth. The world intervenes and suddenly survival becomes more important than soul. Clearly, I think soul is more important than the hoops of survival human beings have to jump through in order to live and I am ever irritated at the way the world has been set up. The structures of power under which we all live are mean, unfair, and of virtually no benefit to the planet or humanity. Welcome to June, my darlings; the social systems of power and their impact on you have never been so starkly visible.
To work effectively with this energy think growing down; keep strengthening those roots and speak your truth. This is not a time to shut up and be quiet. This is a time of judgment; judgment is simply a weighing of facts. If someone is an asshole and it’s impacting you in the worst of ways, it’s not time to be thinking about the wounds that made so and so this way. It’s time to say no, maybe even holler no, and set boundary. In June think of weeding the garden that is you, of all those who give nothing back. Giving and receiving is cyclic; one without the other is imbalanced and a shirking of personal power that you could be using to take a stand. Human beings, humanity is being called upon to take a stand.
We are living through Kali Yuga, the center no longer holds, and we are in the midst of the Great Change — from the ideal of Mankind to the reality of Humankind. Though we’re taught and told that we’re on the planet to be more spiritual, I don’t agree. To be truly spiritual you have to be dead, without a body, and human beings have bodies. I think the point of spirituality and the sacred experience is to put us in touch with the humane and to grow our humanity. Each of contain the seeds of the humane within. Our task as human beings is to grow those seeds and we do that by embodying the sacred experience. We bring the transcendent into body;
The next time you meditate, or take time to be one with the sacred, at the beginning of the session, make sure you drop a root from the base of your spine deep into the earth. At the end of the session, take a moment to feel the energy around you. Breathe it in. Now with your hands, reach into the energy and pull out a ball of the exact same energy, the size of a basketball. Your hands are apart and you’re feeling the energy between them. Play with it a little, stretch it this way and that, make it wide as your body. When you’re ready and believe me you’ll know when you are, lift the energy up over your head and then bring it down into body: through the head, the neck, the shoulders, the arms, the torso, the legs, the feet. Say: “I am one with my humanity, I am one with the humane within me.” Release the root, thank whoever needs to be thanked, and get on with your day. I promise you, you will love the way it feels.
Great month for readings my loves. We’re halfway through the year and it’s time to look at whether you want to continue on the path you set for yourself at New Years, or start something new that resonates more strongly for you. Despite everything being retrograde and solar flares and eclipses and all of that, there’s a delicious undercurrent of adventure going on and the more deeply rooted you are the more you will benefit. And I want y’all to benefit!
Live loud, love fierce, and suffer no fools. Kat x0x0x0
