September 2016 - Witch Speak
I love the fall. Someone once told me she thinks of bread as a carrier system for butter. I think of September the same way — as a carrier system for October. I’ve been thinking a lot about love recently and humanity and I find I have a harder and harder time coming out of the bliss of meditation and conscious contact with the divine back into the everyday. I have always taught that we bring bliss into body; we use our conscious contact to strengthen self and soul. Our experience of the sacred is our root into the earth and we draw all the sustenance we need up through that root. But what I see happening in the world is so horrific, I think what exactly is the point? The powers that be are hell bent on destroying everything anyway. The only way forward that I can see is the genesis of a world outside of what is already and the only way that genesis is going to be made manifest is through people, like you and me, finding and living true to our authenticity.
Thinking pretty thoughts isn’t going to change bumpkus; bumper stickers of easily digestible platitudes are little more than spiritual Valium. At some point we are going to have to come together as people and destroy the powers that be — the powers that are destroying our beloved earth and humanity. What this means for those of us living and ever evolving in our authenticity is that we are now facing the test of confrontation and unity. Whoopeee! Please know that is a facetious whoopee.
What the guides are telling me:
A life without judgment is not a more spiritual life; it is a life of reaction. In this case life is the tennis ball machine and you are hitting back the balls life throws at you. The tennis ball machine has all the power. Right use of judgment is about turning the machine off. Confront what has you answering to the machine. It can be changed, re-imagined, or re-worked. This is not a quick process. Acceptance is key here, getting to know the why behind the behavior, as is compassion for self and soul. Rooting change(s) in compassion for self and soul is a revolutionary act and you dear one are living in revolutionary times.
We are revolutionaries, my darlings. We hold true the earth is alive and that through the use of energy we can impact our lives and the world around us. When we can’t impact our lives, it is our right and our duty to figure out why, and to confront whatever it is that is stopping us. Confrontation then is an action of the heart.
Refuse to be controlled by the machine. Remember to take beauty breaks along the way; remember to stop for nurture and the sustenance of great, good friends.
Live loud, love fierce, and suffer no fools. Katherine Manaan
